The Flautist of Hamelin

The people in the town of Hamelin are worried, because they have a mice infestation. The mice eat all the food and spread diseases among the children, so the townspeople walk to the house of the mayor asking for a solution. The mayor of Hamelin sends requests across the country for someone who can solve the mice problem. The next morning, a mysterious man arrives in Hamelin claiming he has the solution to their problem, but asks in exchange 10 000 dollars. The mayor of the town believes that the price is very expensive but agrees to the flautist demands. Then, the flautist plays an amazing tune on his flute and dances around the town. The mice appear from everywhere and follow him forming a line of hundreds. The flautist dances his way out of the city and walks into a low water river, followed by the mice, drowning them.
The people in Hamelin celebrate the achievement but the mayor refuses to pay the amount to the flautist. In revenge, that night, while the people are celebrating, the flautist plays another soft tune in his flute and the children of the townspeople left their beds to follow the flautist. The flautist leads them into the mountains outside of Hamelin for never to be seen again.

Once upon a time there was a little girl walking in the woods. She was dressed with a red hooded dress and was carrying a basket filled with food. Her mother had asked her to deliver the food to her grandmother and said not to speak with strangers. But the little girl was so happy in the woods that when a stranger wolf approached to her, she greeted him and began a conversation. The wolf said:
- Hello little girl, what is on the basket?
- Oh, just some food – answered the little girl.
- And who are you taking that food to?
- To my granny.
- And why?
- Because she is very sick. Said the girl, sadly.
- And where does your granny lives?
- In the middle of the woods.
- And when you think you are getting there?

The mistake

A woman takes a bus that is full of people. She walks trough the bus looking for an empty seat but she finds none. She is upset because she has to travel stand up all the way home and surrounded by a bunch of strange people. She is also worried because, at her right, there is a man and is very close to her. After some minutes of travel she wants to check the hour but finds that her watch is not in her wrist. She searches in her bag but its not there. She begins to worry and looks in the floor of the bus but the watch isn’t there. Then she sees that the man at her right is wearing the same black watch she is looking for.

The woman wonders at what moment he has taken it from her and decides to take it back. She pulls out a little knife she carries in her bag and demands to the man to give her the watch. The man, scared, takes off the watch and gives it to her. The woman gets off the bus as fast as she can and, once in the street, she stops to breathe, relieved. The woman puts the watch in her bag and when she is about to walk home, she realizes that there is something in the pocket of her coat: her black watch has been in her pocket the entire time.
